China's construction machinery industry is transforming and accelerating internationalization
Su Zimeng, president of the China Construction Machinery Industry Association, recently stated at a press conference of the China (Beijing) International Construction Machinery, Building Materials Machinery and Mining Machinery Exhibition (BICES 2025) that since 2025, the level of industrial base upgrading and industrial chain modernization in my country's construction machinery industry has continued to improve, the internationalization process has continued to accelerate, and high-quality development has been steadily promoted.
Su Zimeng said that according to statistics from the association, the sales volume of the twelve major categories of construction machinery products has stabilized overall, and has been stable and improving. From January to April, 7 of the 12 major products achieved positive growth in domestic sales, among which graders, excavators, loaders, pavers, aerial work vehicles, and industrial vehicles had the largest increase.

Su Zimeng mentioned that the export volume of the construction machinery industry continued to grow on the basis of a high base in previous years. According to customs data, from January to April 2025, my country's import and export trade volume of construction machinery was US$18.947 billion, an increase of 8.51% year-on-year. Among them, the import amount was US$877 million, a year-on-year decrease of 0.86%; the export amount was US$18.07 billion, a year-on-year increase of 9.01%.
     "The industry's transformation to high-end, intelligent and green continues to accelerate, with fruitful results." Su Zimeng said that in terms of high-end, a number of large and super-large wheeled cranes and crawler cranes, super-large diameter shield machines, super-10,000-ton tower cranes and large excavators, bulldozers, loaders, etc. have been successfully developed and participated in major domestic and foreign engineering construction, playing a key role. In terms of intelligence, some key core components have gradually achieved independent control; some fields have implemented a higher degree of intelligent manufacturing and intelligent product applications; due to the continuous advancement of the digital construction of the industrial chain, the efficient coordination capabilities of some companies in technology, R&D, production, management, logistics, etc. have been further enhanced. In terms of green, electric engineering machinery represented by electric loaders, forkliFTS, lifting work platforms, etc. have grown significantly; some industry companies have made new progress in the R&D, manufacturing and application of new energy engineering machinery such as hydrogen energy, methanol, and hybrid power.
