The clutch pressure plate assembly is a key component of the clutch, mainly composed of the pressure plate, clutch cover, diaphragm spring and other parts. It presses the pressure plate against the clutch driven plate by compressing the spring, generating frictional force between the driven plate and the flywheel, thereby realizing the transmission of engine power to the driveline. When the clutch pedal is depressed, the pressure plate separates from the driven plate, and the power transmission is interrupted; when the clutch pedal is released, the pressure plate presses the driven plate tightly under the action of the spring force, and the power transmission is resumed.

2:Auxiliary Functions: Ensuring Stable and Reliable Transmission
The assembly also guarantees transmission quality through its structural design: the diaphragm spring’s nonlinear elastic characteristics maintain stable clamping force within the normal wear range, preventing slippage and ensuring transmission efficiency. Some assemblies feature shock-absorbing structures to absorb vibrations and impacts, reducing abnormal noise and component wear. The pressure plate is made of high-strength wear-resistant materials (e.g., cast iron alloy) and undergoes heat treatment, enabling it to withstand frictional temperatures of 300-500°C, avoid deformation or failure, and extend overall service life. |

3:Adaptation Function: Matching Requirements of Different Working Conditions
Its design is adjusted based on vehicle type and engine power: for high-torque trucks and construction machinery, the pressure plate uses a larger-diameter diaphragm spring with stronger elasticity to ensure sufficient clamping force for high-power transmission. For family passenger cars, the pressure plate prioritizes lightweight design and operational smoothness, with a diaphragm spring of moderate elasticity to balance power transmission and pedal ease. |

4:Fault Correlation: Typical Symptoms of Functional Abnormalities
Failure of the assembly directly affects power transmission, with three common symptoms: first, clutch slippage—caused by insufficient clamping force (e.g., diaphragm spring fatigue)—manifested as high engine speed but slow vehicle acceleration; second, incomplete disengagement—due to pressure plate jamming or similar issues—resulting in gear-shifting noise or inability to shift gears; third, abnormal noise or vibration—caused by damaged shock-absorbing structures or uneven pressure plate wear—leading to squeaking sounds or vehicle vibration during power engagement. |
