Hydraulic System Integrity & Installation Procedure
Worn or non-genuine wheel cylinder cups typically manifest as visible brake fluid seepage past the dust boot, a spongy or sinking brake pedal, and reduced braking effectiveness. As cup seals degrade, internal leakage allows fluid to bypass the piston, resulting in increased pedal travel, uneven brake application, and eventual complete loss of braking function at the affected wheel. Isuzu service manuals require that when rebuilding a wheel cylinder, both cup seals and dust boots must be replaced as a complete set per wheel. Prior to installation, the cylinder bore must be inspected for scoring or pitting, and if damaged, the entire wheel cylinder assembly must be replaced. When assembling, the new cups must be lubricated with clean brake fluid, installed with the sealing lip facing the hydraulic pressure source (piston outward), and all components must be kept free of dirt or contaminants. Using a non-genuine cup set may void your Isuzu chassis warranty. By choosing an Isuzu Genuine Rear Wheel Cylinder Cup Set, you restore factory-specified hydraulic sealing integrity, maintain consistent brake pedal feel and stopping power, and ensure the safety your Isuzu was designed to deliver. Always specify genuine for brake hydraulic system overhauls.
