Single-Use Installation with Critical Torque Specifications
Isuzu workshop manuals specify that water pump studs and bolts are critical fasteners. For many engines, such as the 4JB1, the water pump bolts must be tightened to a specific torque range (e.g., 1.4 – 2.4 kg·m / 10.1 – 17.3 lb·ft) . Some engines require a two-stage process: a first pass to 15 N·m (11 lb ft), followed by a final pass to 30 N·m (22 lb ft) . Using a non-genuine or damaged stud can result in an improper seal, coolant leaks, and severe engine overheating, potentially voiding your Isuzu warranty.
